Juan Hernandez

Juan was born and raised in Silicon Valley, where he grew up with the music bug performing in orchestras and jazz bands. 

After graduating from San Jose State University's School of Radio and TV Journalism, Juan came to Los Angeles and began his sports broadcasting career, soon becoming the host of a local sports TV show in the South Bay area. Meanwhile, he's performed in several different productions in the Hollywood's theater community, but 2018 is his first rodeo with the Hollywood Fringe Festival's Public Comment. 

City Clerk - Audrey Pinto

Audrey Pinto, originally from Puerto Rico, completed her bachelor's degree in Science. After working for a few years and living in many different US cities, she decided to pursue a career in acting, which she was always passionate about.  While in Miami, she wrote and produced a play with one of her classmates. She recently relocated to Los Angeles and attends Lesly Kahn Acting School and Second City Improv in Hollywood. She looks forward to working in more films in the very near future. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, hiking up the mountains and dancing salsa.

Mayor Harold Wilson - Adam Sartain*

Adam loves to perform, and it shows. Born and raised in Sacramento, California, he holds a B.A. in Music: Performance from UCDavis, where he played in several groups and ensembles. His extensive theatrical experience dates back to elementary school. He has over 10 years of experience on stage, mainly at the Davis Musical Theatre Company, where he has played many roles including Bruce Ismay in Titanic,  Marcellus in The Music Man, and Sancho in Man of La Mancha. Last year he reprised the role of Cogsworth on the stage of the Los Angeles Orpheum Theater for a one night charity performance of Beauty and the Beast. He has also been in several independent and student films and you may have seen him on TV in an eHarmony commercial or on YouTube in the Everybody Loves Luigi web series. Adam is excited to be returning to the stage to help bring his vision to life. Surprisingly enough he is single, ladies. For now... [Col 3:17]

Councilmember Emily Arthur, (Understudy) Rachel Trudeau - 

Jocelyne Watts*

Jocelyne is a Valley girl in the literal sense; born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. While growing up, she took every opportunity to perform. Whether it was the school play or musical, cheerleading, dance team, it didn't matter. She just loved to perform. Jocelyne graduated cum laude from UCLA with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Theatre. Since then, she has trained at UCB Improv and Lesly Kahn & Co. and has worked on numerous independent film projects. This includes the action film, Avenging Angel, in which she did all her own stunts as the lead, 'Alexandra'.Jocelyne is currently a cast member of LA's longest running comedy show, TMI Hollywood, which performs at the Hudson Theatre. She also enjoys performing with Young Storytellers, a non-profit organization that helps children find their voice through script writing. When she isn't acting or producing her own projects, she loves to curl up with one of her fat cats, (preferably the one that doesn't try to pounce her as she does yoga) and read a good book with a cup of tea.

Councilmember Kristy Malvern - Reatha Grey~

Reatha Grey is one of the sexy senior pranksters from Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, the award winning show that aired for two seasons on NBC and one season on The Lifetime Channel.

 

After an extended hiatus from the entertainment industry between 1991 and 2006, Reatha returned to acting in 2007 and can be seen in films including Walk by Faith: After the Honeymoon, Christmas on Salvation Street, and Chocolate City. TV movies include: A Christmas Cruse, Wrong Crush and A Husband for Christmas, She has appeared in television shows including Grace and Frankie, Teachers, Legion, Ray Donovan, The Newsroom, Key and Peele, How I Met Your Mother, and Castle. Councilmember Andrew Alva - Austin Gelfman*

Austin is new talent from New Jersey. Since making it to LA in early 2017, he has performed in the Fringe play "Breather" and many TMI Hollywood shows on Sunday nights. He has studied at Second City, Groundlings, TVI Actors Studio, and Lesly Kahn. With inspiration from Chris Farley, Jim Carrey, Robin Williams and Leslie Nielsen, Austin has a unique personality and sense of humor that is masked by the glorious fashion sense and dashing visage of a stoic medieval knight.  

Councilmember Jane Harolds - Kathy Sue Holtorf~

Kathy Sue Holtorf has been acting since the age of four, first starring in her most notable role of Jolly the Elf in her daycare's rendition of A Rock and Roll Christmas. In her parents eyes, she still can't live down that performance. Since then, she has been in the original cast of Leonard Melfi's Last Call Forever as Mellow Legs, had a bit role in Piranha 3DD as Bimbo Lifeguard and did some goofy stuff in some YouTube videos you've probably never seen. (Or have you? SUBSCRIBE!) Voted "Most Likely to be Famous" in high school, she is working tirelessly on fulfilling all of her 16 yr old peers' unreasonably high expectations of her. In all seriousness though, she is so grateful for this experience, loves the cast and crew of PUBLIC COMMENT and says that you should "follow @kathysue17". Hey, she's single fellas! Also, "hi mom!"

Rachel Trudeau - Emma Lieberman

Emma Lieberman is a bicoastal actress excited to be making her Hollywood Fringe Festival debut! Selected credits. Film: Confessions of a Teenage Cannibal, Tales from Shakespeare, Lesbihonest. Summer Woods - Jessica Rae Duarte

Jessica Rae Duarte also known as  J.Rae embodies L.A. attitude while maintaining a southern bell sensibility. Born Jessica Rae Duarte, J.Rae always had aspirations of being a performer. She grew up singing everything from Alanis Morrisette to Rogers & Hammerstein and everything in between.You just couldn’t keep her off the stage, whether it was singing and dancing in the school’s talent show or performing as the lead in that year’s musical. If she’s wasn’t performing in front of a live audience, you could usually find her at dance class or her vocal lessons. At the young age of 16 she co-wrote And recorded her first pop demo with a family friend, going on to perform at venues all over California. She is now a member of ASCAP and BMI and has started working in the more elite scene perfecting her craft and performing at well known venues. 

Rabbi Stephen Rabinowitz, Frederick Merriman, Aaron Raymer - Jake Cassman

Jake is a musician, writer, and performer whose art took him around the world and back before returning to his home state of California this year. In 2017, he wrote the songs and score for ImprovBoston's annual Halloween "splatter" musical. His band, Drunken Logic, will release their third album this fall. 

Councilmember Richard Anderson - Michael Canetty

Michael Canetty was born in Brooklyn New York in 1945. His dream of becoming an actor started at a young age He was influenced by his mother Kay who took him to the movies and Broadway shows frequently. In high school and college, he was active in theater productions. He also enjoyed dancing and was a regular on local teen dance shows in New York.

After attending Brooklyn College, he went to work for a textile company in New York City. In the late 1960’s he was transferred to Los Angeles and by 1974 he started his own wholesale fabric company. Unfortunately, his acting career was put on a forty-year hold while he was running a new business and raising a family. With all the children out of the nest and his business being managed by his second wife, he was now free to pursue his life long acting passion.

So at the tender age of 65 year, he began his acting career. Since starting he has appeared in several TV shows, Indie movies, music videos, and commercials. He has recently appeared in two national commercials for Boost Mobile and Big Lots. He can be seen recurring on Jimmy Kimmel Live doing sketch comedy.

This is his first appearance in a stage play and would like to thank Adam Sartain for giving him this opportunity.

Alan Carter, Richard Jenkins, Eddie Bertram - KC Katsaros

An actor, writer, and director, K.C. got his start as a performer acting in musicals at the Hamilton Academy of Music. Since then he's gone on to co-found a comedy short production company called FunnyMovieInternet where he wrote and directed over forty short films, act in a number of commercials and shorts both on screen and as a VO artist, and work as a copywriter on numerous major marketing campaigns for video games and television (Batman: Arkham Asylum, The Blacklist, and Will & Grace, to name a few). You can also find him doing goofy things on Instagram and YouTube. He's thrilled to return to the musical theater stage after a long absence and hopes this show will inspire you to go to your local town hall meetings and say ridiculous things.

City Attorney - Donovan Farwell

Donovan is an avid fan of all things theatrical. He studied acting in New York at The HB Studio, moved to California to become a movie star but got married and had a family instead, putting his acting career on hold for a couple of decades. Now that he is back in the thick of it, he looks forward to becoming part of the thespian community here in Los Angeles.

Alex Ribauld, George Rocquet - Jeremy Zaugg

Jeremy Zaugg received Best Actor in his High School musical.  He also won Best Actor twice for One Act completion and 3rd in State for pantomime competition.

In 1998 he enlisted in the U.S. military for twelve years. He deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, where he received the Army Commendation Medal for his work as an Interrogator and Team Leader.

He then completed a bachelor’s degree in Film and Media Arts, produced a feature film, self-published a novel, and ran a small business for two years specializing in outdoor equipment and training.

After a full life, Jeremy decided to return to his first love and moved to L.A. to pursue acting.

Elaine DeFalco, Suzanne Sunn (VO) - Carla Westlund

Carla is a former Chicago actor and acting graduate from Illinois State University who genuinely loves long walks on the beach, and like  a true modest child prodigy, you could also find her dancing, singing, playing guitar/flute and searching for a new agent.. ;) She is the upcoming co-star in the horror film “Playback” produced and directed by Pixar and Dreamworks animators/filmmakers Carlos Baena and Carlos Puertolas and you may have seen her speak out on Good Morning America, The Today Show, Fox News, and other media stations on behalf of the national non profit P.A.V.E. she works with on the issues of ride share sexual assault. She loves Chai tea and her cool cat in a bow tie, Charlie.

Ensemble - Melissa Ocampo*

Melissa Ocampo is from the sunny city of San Diego, also knows as the "Whale's Vagina." She moved to Los Angeles after receiving a Joe Gillis Internship to work at Sunset Gower Studios. With over a decade of experience as a Producer, Melissa thought it was time to try the other side of the camera. The double life of Producing and Acting is the adrenaline she thrives on. She has studied improv at UCB on Sunset in Hollywood, Theatre at the Sidewalk Theatre and Intensive comedy at the school of Lesly Kahn.  Her most prideful moment as an actor was working with her role model, Danny Trejo, in 2017 and playing "Terry" in the play, Extremities by William Mastrosimone . When she's not producing or acting this busy bee is creating content for her Vegan youtube channel, "The Vegan Latina." 

(Understudy) Councilmember Malvern - Stephanie Dunn

Stephanie Dunn has been writing, directing, and acting in the theatre,
since childhood. Stephanie wrote and produced plays in the Chicago
market, which were performed professionally in local theatres.
Stephanie worked creatively with Crawford Broadcasting, as
Executive Writer/Producer for four of Crawford’s Chicago land radio
stations. Stephanie has recently relocated to Los Angeles, and is
looking forward to continued success in the theatre. Her motto
is…”Laughter is good for the soul!”
